Project One part one

This image is also part of my new project and is still along way off where I hope to end up. But from little acorns...

Project One part two

Ok, so this is just a start. Recently, for the first time in years, I have begun a little project of my own. I have a grain of an idea and I don't know where it will lead or what will come from it but over the course of this year I will be posting up various images I make and anyone who wants to comment or like them is free to do so. I am by no means happy with them at the moment and that is the great thing about having something like this kicking around in your head. There is a certainty that says sometime in the near future I will create an image that is just what I am looking for. And it probably wont be an onion...

Lifestyle shoot with Sinitta

Today I got to shoot with Sinitta for the second time in a month. She is such a lovely person. Very easy to work with and a joy to shoot. She is working out with a very specialized piece of gym equipment and this image is part of a lifestyle shoot to be published soon.

Me? Faking it?

This small feature was one we did at the last London Fashion Week. My client was M.A.C Cosmetics and we had a journalist for the Irish Independant come over and try her hand at being an undercover make up artist. In the middle of London Fashion Week. Talk about being thrown in at the deep end. The journalist was Edel and she coped with the make up, the models, the tantrums and working with me...

Fashion week is always hectic and you never know going into it what pictures you will have created by the end. Which is an exciting way to work and very similar to a wedding.

This season we did some amazing shows and the makeup artists did some beautiful work. Roll on next Spring/Summer 11.

Two go mad in Australia

I took my daughter to Melbourne, Australia earlier this year. We have friends and family there and we spent four lovely weeks baking in the sun and being buffeted by the wind. It was so nice to be away from the U.K in March which can be a bit of a dismal month weather wise. We swam, ate ice creams, picnicked and enjoyed being in the wonderful landscape. Boey had her first wetsuit bought for her and everyone put up with me pointing my camera at them. Which was nice!

A dark February weddding

Did anyone watch Crimson Petal And The White? I was the second shooter on this wedding and whilst my friend Nick was setting up his lights to shoot the Bride from the alleys entrance, I moved forward and found myself a little alcove to stand in where I was out of his shot. Using the light from the streetlamp for illumination I could see that when shooting landscape I would be able to capture the bride and her reflected image in the shop window. The only photoshop this image has had is a slight colour correction and some highlights toned down. Looking back on this image now something about the alley way and perhaps the brides shrug looks quite Victorian and it reminded me of the recent dramatisation of The Crimson Petal And the White which also had quite a brooding dark feel to it.

My friend Nick

This is my second shooter and friend Nick. A long exposure, a steady hand and hey presto I'm catching his flash light.
